Day 2 of the workshop we learned rules for how to take pictures. Rule of thirds
is where you mentally put a 3x3 grid graph on your viewfinder and put your subject
on a one of the lines in your picture.
Leading Lines are where you have certain objects that lead to your subject. They could
be straight, a curve, or any other shape that leads somewhere.
Fill the Frame was our third rule for the day. Fill the frame is, well, just what is says!
Your subject basically takes up the entire picture! :D
Before we started shooting, we did a group
photo shoot. We had a lot of fun with it!
This was my Fill the Frame picture, but it also could be
Rule of Thirds.
This one was Shallow Depth of Field. Shallow
Depth of Field is where you focus on your
subject and let some back round be visible.
Your back round can be really blurry, slightly
blurred, or pretty clear. :) Shallow Depth of
Field tells a story in your picture.
My shadow in the river we visited for practicing
Shutter Speed.
Walking back from the river.
On the way to the river I saw this interesting
creature on a Winery sign and asked Allison
to take my picture with it!!
I tried asking him about Gieco insurance
but he couldn't tell me anything. ;)
Our hosts's, black lab, Tory. :D
Day 3 is coming!
