Our grandpa Marshall passed away on September 12, 2012. Grandpa had been in the hospital for a few weeks since he had fallen and fractured his hip. He seemed to be doing well, but hadn't been able to pass the swallow test. The doctor's said grandpa was not responding very well. He would sleep a lot and seemed to have trouble staying awake. On the 9th of September the doctor confirmed that grandpa would not live much longer. We were able to spend a lot of time with him the next few days and on the day he passed away were with him as well. We sang to him, read scripture and prayed over him. A very dear dear friend to us, Mr Bridges, who had been a friend to grandpa was also there with us that day, which was a great blessing to our family.
We will cherish our memories of grandpa and remember what a faithful husband he was to his wife who had Alzheimer's. A father to my dad and uncle. A wonderful grandpa to us girls. And loving great-grandpa to Sophia.
My friend Hannah was able to photograph our grandpa's memorial. Here are a few photos from that day.
