Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving 2013 we celebrated the day at the Ehlinger home along with many other families. The day was filled with seeing friends we hadn't seen in a long time, conversations, great food, volleyball, pie contest, and skeet shooting! :D Enjoy the many photo's taken of our day! :D

Thanksgiving morning, Annick and Nicholes were getting ready to spend Thanksgiving with his family. Sophia was being such a big helper to Annick in make our traditional Thanksgiving/Christmas rolls.

Sophia loves helping in the kitchen!

Big sister all cute and ready to go

Playing the guitar while waiting to leave.
Girly loves to play music, take pictures and cook.
I have no idea where she gets all that from.... ;)
Bella Mae's first Thanksgiving.

I made a Chocolate Pumkin pie for the pie contest.

I had way to much fun swirling the chocolate
into the pumpkin, that I over swirled it and it turned out
a little darker on top than i expected. :) Live and learn!

Many games of volleyball were played through
out the day and into the evening!

Once everyone arrived it was time to
bless the meal and dig in!
 Everyone brought something delicious.

Our very simple schedule of the day.
 Pie contest underway
There were a great deal of pies for the contest!
I think the men were happy. :D
Each pie had a jar with a red napkin in it and
corn kernels where used for casting the votes.
 Tallying up the votes
All the contested young and old waiting to hear the results
 Jason Ehlinger officiating the results
Maggie placed third, Anna Maria second, and the tall
red head placed first. I have no idea who she was.
 Conversations
The older Ehlinger relatives watching the younger generations play volleyball.
Last but never least in my book, came the skeet shoot!

Oh, there's that red head again. Anyway, she tried skeet
shooting for the first time. I was surprised she actually hit 2
out of the 20 skeets.... ;)

 Hand gun shooting

Bow and arrow shoot.

We had a wonderful time trying something new for Thanksgiving. There is a possibility we might join them for the next Thanksgiving, but who knows what the Lord has in store for us this year!
